Brickell is the urban development located immediately to the south of downtown Miami. It is the financial district of the city, consisting of several skyscrapers housing financial institutions, residences, and hotels.
Brickell should not be confused with downtown Miami. Although adjacent to one another, both regions are distinct and separate neighborhoods of the city. Despite this fact, it is commonplace to assume that the two neighborhoods are one and the same.
