6 galleriesHong Kong is my "Number 2" in the Top 2 cities I have most wished to photograph in the world. Hong Kong was everything I always thought it would be, and so much more. It is cosmopolitan and international. Unabashedly modern, yet historic. Dazzling and daunting, but always mesmerzing. One could say it's chaotic, but there is a rhythm to the chaos, a method to the madness, and it's a wonderful rhythm to find oneself enraptured. It was not difficult to fall in love with the city, its people, its food, its architecture, and the international vibe that defines it. Hong Kong is a quintessential world city, without a doubt. Explore and enjoy the photos! Oh, and my "Number 1" city to photograph? That would be Sydney, Australia.

3 galleriesSelamat Datang ke Kuala Lumpur! Welcome to Kuala Lumpur! When TIA made plans to visit Singapore and Sydney during the December holidays (2013), a very close friend in Britain recommended that I try to spend a few days in Kuala Lumpur, the gigantic metropolis that serves as Malaysia’s capital city. Although Kuala Lumpur was never originally on the schedule, my friend’s persuasion was excellent counsel, and TIA is extremely proud and pleased to feature Kuala Lumpur in its official portfolio. Located where the River Gombak meets the River Klang, Kuala Lumpur’s fascinating name has several historical legends behind it, most of which have similar plots. Translated from Malay, Kuala Lumpur means “Muddy Confluence”, which is most accurate in description and, without a doubt, a very unique name for this city whose metropolitan population is almost six million! Similar to how we use “NYC” in reference to New York City, and “LA” for Los Angeles, Kuala Lumpur is lovingly abbreviated as “KL” and shares that moniker by residents and visitors alike. KL is quite massive, which is profoundly an understatement in and of itself. With less than 72 hours available, TIA tried to capture as much of the city as possible. Alas, this was an ambitious -- and quite impossible -- mission, but please enjoy this gallery that was an earnest attempt to cover the exotic city, which swelters with humidity in the day and is often interrupted with downpours of rainfall in the late afternoon. Bring an umbrella with you at all times! To truly appreciate how humongous KL is in area (as well as population), please make sure to view TIA's exclusive aerial images of Kuala Lumpur in the Aerial Photography collection! Terima Kasih! Thank You!

2 galleriesCome along with TIA on a short side-trip from Hong Kong for a few hours to Macau, the "Las Vegas of Asia." The day was rainy and dreary. Nevertheless, Macau was yet another mesmerizing world that I had never seen until August 2010. Even Mother Nature's bad disposition during my visit could not prevent me from capturing this very exotic and extraordinary locale. Bring your umbrella and let's go!

3 galleries* * * Welcome to Singapore! * * * When in the presence of a lion, be it in the shape of an animal or an entire city of people, I can only show my profound respect. . . The name “Singapore” was adapted by the British from its original Malay name, “Singapura”, which means “Lion City”. I had often read books and magazines about the great Lion City, established on an island at the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula. I was fascinated by its history and how it transformed itself from a British trading post into its own economic empire and one of the largest ports in the planet. As a photographer of cities and urban landscapes, its magnificent skyline was always of interest as well. Without a doubt, Singapore is an international crossroads traversed by travelers, industrialists, entrepreneurs, explorers and, most recently, a boy who used to be crazy about “National Geographic World” magazines in elementary school. My visit to Singapore was a personal moment of reckoning -- finally reaching one of the destinations I had learned so much about since childhood. Please enjoy the three official galleries of Singapore available on the website featuring the marvelous, rhythmic, hustle and bustle of the city, in addition to the cosmopolitan metropolis dazzling all the human senses at night!
