Welcome to TIA’s personal photography project for 2015 -- and perhaps the most challenging and daunting one to date.
For this venture, TIA will abandon its comfort zone and attempt to capture the portraits of 100 strangers and post them in this gallery.
In addition, to complement each portrait and add an element of personality, TIA will request each participant to provide a personal quote that he or she would like to express.
I am extremely curious to see if I can accomplish this challenge as this is a project for which I am completely unaccustomed and uncertain.

51 imagesAs of December 2015, you can see that I did not reach my quota of 100 Different Faces. Instead, I accomplished the capture of 51 different personalities, but my previously energetic enthusiasm dwindled and languished from mid-summer onwards. The challenge was inspiring, and it definitely brought me out of my comfort zone each and every time I approached another human being. I am very proud of “The 51” different faces I was able to capture. Many of these individuals have beautiful minds and souls. On a more intimate level, I will concede that there is one particular woman featured here who I wish I had taken more time to know as I felt incredibly attracted to her when I asked to take her photo. Alas, I consider this an unbeknownst (but enjoyable) byproduct of this project. I still think about her now. Aside from the increasing number of failed attempts and rejections to my project’s objective by many prospective individuals, there are several reasons why I deliberately chose to abandon the project. One of them was the unexpected and excessive level of disappointment I had experienced this year with people who I had once valued as friends. Poor decision-making was another reason. Earlier in the year, while this project was in progress, I believe I had made the worst decision I have ever made in my life -- one that I regret wholeheartedly, but have ultimately resolved to stop berating myself and move onwards since the occurrence. Lastly, current events in 2015 taking place in my city, my country, and around the world, created a most unfortunate disdain in the way I view people in general. I also discovered that I don’t really know what strangers see when they see me with my camera and equipment, with which I’m trying to capture a different perspective of our world. This uncertainty is rather unsettling and disheartening, but will never be enough to preclude me from pursuing my passion of photography. The amount of constant malice, hatred, and violence people display towards each other every single day -- in the news and in my life -- inevitably truncated my efforts to complete this project.
