The tears we shed This is the fear This is the dread These are the contents of my head..." -- Annie Lennox, "Why" (1991) This gallery is dedicated to the ideas and thoughts roaming through my mind. They do not fall under any specific theme or category, so they are fairly random and eccentric. Essentially, these images illustrate the often undefinable contents of what's racing around in my head (hence the name of this gallery). I love music from all eras, so some of these photos may be inspired by the title of a song (that you may or may not recognize), or a significant, resonating song lyric that I felt I could illustrate via photography. Other images might be reflective of current affairs, or popular culture, or just a thought that has been in my head for several years and never expressed. None of these images are intended to overtly offend the viewer by any means. In fact, a sense of humor is highly recommended for a few of the images showcased here. However, if the images and their content enlightens, evokes a chuckle, broadens one's own perspective, or questions a topic that should indeed be questioned, then the purpose of this gallery has been achieved. Please check back every so often to see what's on my mind. -
1 galleryWelcome to TIA’s personal photography project for 2015 -- and perhaps the most challenging and daunting one to date. For this venture, TIA will abandon its comfort zone and attempt to capture the portraits of 100 strangers and post them in this gallery. In addition, to complement each portrait and add an element of personality, TIA will request each participant to provide a personal quote that he or she would like to express. I am extremely curious to see if I can accomplish this challenge as this is a project for which I am completely unaccustomed and uncertain. -
12 galleriesFor many years, TIA has been intrigued by other photographers and individuals who try to document a year of their own lives by taking one photo a day for the period of an entire year. TIA has decided 2014 will be the year to embark on this particular project, simply for the challenge it presents, including producing an image with the camera I have available, instead of the one I would prefer to use typically. 2014:365 will encourage -- if not, force -- me to be very creative and think of subject matters I normally wouldn't photograph (especially on days when I might forget and 11pm rolls around)! This project will help me to contemplate ideas not previously examined, generate new imagery, and experiment with different aspects of photography. Ultimately, my objective is to enlighten my perspective when I view subject matters, in addition to develop and further enhance my techniques in the art. Enjoy a year in the life of TIA International Photography, one day at a time!
